Quote from Gai-Luron :Yes you can do this, but you can't have an array with multiple dimensions combined

$ar[1] = 12;

thanx, well

$ar[$UserName] = 12;

will work?

hallo,

it means something to store users divergent variables, like 1D array

$array[1] = 1;
$array[2] = 123;

... etc, where inside of brackets is username (string) identifier instead of number, this is i belive correct method used in C as well in JavaScript etc.:

$array["Scawen"] = 1;
$array["Victor"] = 123;

to store into variable $array[]; - if (for exapmple) username Victor tried to join 123 times in race... variable $array[] to store if colects 123 points... or variable $array_swearwords[]; to store his overall swearwords... etc.

thanx for support!

dnine

Quote from Yisc[NL] :I'm not totaly sure I understand what you want but I think that's possible already. You could use a FOR or WHILE loop and add actions to that when some criteria are met. Maybe you could try it or give a more detailed example.

hallo Gai,
new ver seems promising, after quick look on specs i have "technical" question - is there possibility with new features (stored variables, arrays) to use something like solution for repeated actions?
eg. (fictive syntax ):

on($MidraceJoin)
{
$some_repeated_action_stored_variable($UserName)++

if($some_repeated_action_stored_variable($UserName) == 3)
{
kick($UserName);
}

}

i belive, if thats works, it is very powerfull tool for many applications including pointing system

thanx for development,

dnine

hallo,
i have issue with $ShortDate variable.
instead of 09.03.09 (dd.MM.yy) i receive 9.23.09 (attached screenshot) - only one digit in day number and 23 instead 03 in month number...
possibly hapends because of localized windows environment?

regards!

hallo,
bug report:

lapper is doing autorestart durning qualification - before it ends of course, its probably problem if the length of qual is changed - lapper still uses initial value

im sorry if that was already reported

use TrackInfo maker utility to generate your own intervals - like 100-110% of wr for unbelivable splits... 110-120% for good splits... 140-150% for bad splits ;D
then configure message levels in main lapper cfg - can be more than 2 default levels (i belive )

Quote from kamo2000 :Hello
I propably missed this one in this topic so i'll just ask. Is there a way to show messages for average and bad splits? like 5-10 sek off the wr?
It's for encouragement :P

hallo, after relatively long time of using older version of lapper (with text output of top tables) on my servers i decided to "switch" to lattest version.

previously i shortly tested airio and i must say i like lapper more because its more "scriptable" and i decided to use it.

but i must also say, there is some things i think they need to be more friendly

like copying text from top tables (easy possible with text version, in airio processed through righ mouse button click on table row)

or basic events - qual starts, race auto starts (its nice to signalize to guests that race is automatically restarted, even more nice with countdown...)

missing also detection of people joining race with full loaded car or with knobbly tyres. maybe a part of flags detection would be enough

simply point system... 1 more row in pb file? i know, lapper will never be ctra

one bug (maybe?) in the end - there is not possible to use global button on RaceStartAction() event?

thanx for developing!

-you missed at least 3 apexes in that replay
-braked too early almost every corner
-catched grass before entering 2nd chicane, thats reason of your drift
-drived with almost 50% of fuel in tank
-did not used full width of track incomming into almost every corner

thats all gives you 2 seconds ;D

Quote from Deve8uk :I just changed from Nilex to the one given me to try onhere and other than not close to apex on a few, only corner that gave me greif, as always is T5, always get drift on that

are you familiar enough with your controller?
do you use full width of the track?
do you brake in time? - do you every time "hit" the apexes of corners?
do you drive all corners inclucing shicane on full throttle?
...
[quote of book "How to drive your Blackwood faster"]

good luck, do 1000 laps, then 1000 laps with RWD and youll see, youll improve

tip: attend to your sector times (differences between split times) - it helps you to find out where are you slower (typically last sector) - up to 1.08.2x you can easilly do 1.34 with XFG

[QUOTE=Deve8uk;1048791]OK I have been tinkering about for about a month trying to get my time down from 1.38/9 to 1.35's. I am using teh nilex set and have probaly done 300 laps a day. I get the occasional 1.35 but its seemed to of settled at 1.36.5. Atl least in concistant.

regular Splits

1st 30's
2nd 08's

Its doing y head in, ive looked at it on the analyser and I just cant stop the tyres from squeeling above 6K revs. So although I am smoth in teh corners I am just not able to cary the speed through.

I have tried heel toe, sequencial at rev points and with throttle blip. Do the trail breaking, but I always get over taken in the entrance to corners in multiplayer. Just seem to of hit the learning curve wall.

or, there is a Wine (windows emulator) port for mac or commercial "frontend" for it called CrossOver. LFS works under both of them, tested, approx 30-50% FPS count comparing to windows on same machine

Stupid question about the dedicated server ...

Underneath the hosts name, it just displays a " ? " instead of " host ", for example.
Is it supposed to be like that? It's been doing that in all these test patchs for me ...

hehe, except a little detail - they are using hybrid tyres
interesting, 1st time seen on xrg!
this can be possible serious break of STD class blance if that will be used with XRGs on another tracks!

Quote from arco :I've already beaten a couple of his wr's, by not using script. So anything is possible. But to give you a good example of the advantage, take a look at the FE Gold rev/XRG hotlap list. Both of those infront of Bawbag are using clutch script. See how much better times than him they have? I really doubt they are that much faster than Bawbag, if they didn't use a script.

Quote from arco :I have nothing against mouse/keyboard use, or button clutch for that matter (I used it myself when I was using mouse, to do manual shifts). It's the button clutch script thingy that bugs me, giving you perfect and insanely fast shifts. And yes, I'm sure it can give a whole second advantage on the longer tracks. I've tested it myself, and on a short track I was 0.4 seconds faster with it than without.

hmm... i have a suggestion:
do you agree with test hotlap done by you - choose one of pecholobos wr and try to beat it with clutch script?
possible?
please do not take it as oppositing from me, all respect. im just wondering.

Quote from Boris Lozac :
So conclusion, it's great having the ability to drive with the mouse, but it CAN'T be better and easier then a wheel for FWD and less powered cars...

but it is not!

what you compare? your MOMO?

btw. maybe you dont know - guys in top WRs on bl1 XFG with mouse made tens thousands laps there.
let me guess, how much laps need eg. duck with wheel to beat them?

Quote from Technique :Not sure if you can compare a "digital speedometer" to a script written to perform artificially unrealistic shifts.

in my (hardcore demo) hotlapping times with xrt i used digital speedo to decide about my braking points...
now, when i cant see my incomming_into_corner speed in precision of +-1kph i cant decide about the right braking point... (we talking about hotlapping to world records)
thats all.
everyone using digital speedo is in advantage of atrificialy unrealistic precise braking points to me in this point of view

Quote from arco :It gives you a blazingly fast clutch, twice as fast as normal clutch.

i agree,
but these things - button clutch and logitech profiller scripts are legal "features" of lfs and wheel drivers, so i cant see any hacks there. same with outgauge port of lfs and digital speedo...
i prefer maybe a "cheat" word in case of scripts - so maybe the only right thing is report THE cheater to devs?

and i also agree about losing of fun of hotlapping when someone better is there

please tell me more about this hack?
maybe explain me the "hack" word?

Quote from arco :Yes, if he wants a wr, he'll have to set one with the same limits that everyone else has. Not by using a hack that gives a 0.5-1.0 second advantage pr. lap. It seems like most of the community realizes that using such a hack is bad, except for the Spanish, who happily do whatever they can to be the fastest. Are they retards or what? It's really fun to have spent a lot of time and effort setting a wr, and have someone come along using button clutch script, AND using your setup without permission, beat it without breaking a sweat. And it's pretty much impossible to challenge it unless you use the same hack. To be honest, I'm getting sick of it and it has ruined the fun I had hotlapping.

translation for you:

accuracy - every cheap wheel users are in disadvantage comparing to G25 users... (in steering precision also comparing to mouse users)
every 900 degrees, H-shifter, clutch pedal users are in disadvantage to 200 degrees, paddles, auto clutch users.

i ofcourse disagree to mouse be removed from lfs

Quote from Boris Lozac :Thank you, thread proven...

simlpy question:

do you think, when clutch button will be removed, that pecholobo (who is also using it) shall have no more world records?

im not sure.

what is closer to simulation? pressing clutch button before shifting or shifting with autoclutch?
should manual clutch be same fast as automatic or should be faster? -> should shifting with paddles be same fast as shifting with H-shifter or with auto gears?

just questions...

about mouse...
i got DFP, i have been using it for 1/2 year, then i returned back to mouse - simple reason - mouse is more accurately (i belive with g25 would be different - better, but atm i have no money as well as time to adopt on it)

hello,

tip for every who need:

there is a "cheat" to push (current) lapper properly work with usernames and authentification on demo servers with new patches (Y18 and later).
server just must be launched as S2 (/mode=s2) but with demo restricted settings (BL1 or BL2; XFG, XRG, FBM; maxguests=15; carsmax=12). authentification works and demo users are allowed to connect on that s2 server because of new online system.

keyborad shortcut CTRL+C

(
meanwhille dialogue:
first man: oh ctrl+c, isnt it default windows's clipboard shortcut?
second man: hmm hmm, yes
first man: interesting
thrid man: they must develop it on macintoshs or something...
)

...

"correct" bug in windowed mode with mouse is - even with mouse clipped to window you can not play with mouse because the window is still "sizable" on borders with cursor (it happens eg .when turning)

actually it seems do not - UseUsernameForAuthentication = true; in config, but all username commands are interpreted as (log): /kick {Username} - really exactly that, instead /kick [d9] (for example)... on my s2 server its working well of course...

Quote from Yisc[NL] :This works superb for S2-usernames and should now also work with demo-users.

hi, there is new Y18 patch with usernames authentification also in demo. anyone success with commands depend on usernames or it is not possible in actual version of lapper?
